Last night after dropping Kimo off with X, I decided to take Gomez out to eat. Yeah, he's grounded but the kid's gotta have sustenance, yanno?
Apparently everyone in town has had a major case of cabin fever because of the storms. Unlike where
Trin lives, we don't get rain 200+ days out of the year, so when it rains we all stay home.
We went to three restaurants before finally finding one that didn't have a line coming out the door and had an available parking place.
Gomez was pushing for Dairy Queen, but dayum, I just didn't want a burger.
First was a little bistro here in town and that's where the line was. We couldn't even get in the door. We left there and headed for a new Chinese Buffet place in town but there were no empty parking places. We ended up at Cracker Barrel.
No, it's not four stars - hell I doubt it's even three - but Gomez loves breakfasts and we figured we'd kill some time wandering around the store front part while waiting for a table. I figured since we were a party of two it wouldn't take so long to seat us.
Forty - yes 40 - minutes later we were seated.
Another 10 minutes went by before the waitress put in her first appearance. Then when she took our order she explained that it may take a little longer than normal because they were so busy.
*blink* Gee, ya think?
So two hours later, we were on our way out.
Note to self: Dairy Queen next time.
Today Gomez and I went on the great Cheddar Sausage hunt.
I've been craving Johnsonville Better Cheddar sausages. Don't ask why.
No, I'm not pregnant. I haven't been exposed.
I just had this deep craving for the taste of them for some reason.
It got so bad that the other day when I couldn't find them I bought the plain kind and ended up eating four of them I think, just trying to find that taste.
It's like my tastebuds and craving monster wouldn't listen to my brain saying "Dude, there IS no cheddar in any of these!"
Note to self: If you're going to eat that many sausages, put the damn toilet paper in the freezer and clear a path to the bathroom.
So anyway, I informed Gomez of our quest last night and told him to be ready. He thought I was nuts, but oh well.
We got up this morning and hotfooted it to the bank to cash a child support check before they closed and zoomed over to Kroger.
I made a beeline to the back area where the sausages are and
OMG, the only thing missing was the trumpet fanfare as my desired treasure came into focus.
There they were. Sitting in the case like sparkling gems.
*dabs eyes with a tissue*
I snatched up FOUR of those little packs of cheddary goodness.
No, I didn't dance in the aisle.
Shuddup.
I did not.
I also grabbed some of the little bucket thingys of Campbells Chunky Chicken Noodle soup. I'm not cooking for the rest of the weekend.
Guess what I had for lunch when we got home.
Soup.
Go figure.
Trin, hon, hope your ass feels better. I'm slapping my hands not to make a smart-ass remark about trying more lube next time.
Pischina, seeing as how I'm the older twin by 10 days, learn from my mistakes. Stock up on Cheddar Sausages when you find them.
Until next time~
